This is a local community theatre company where I live. I happened on their website one day and it reflected the fact that a volunteer had built their original website. Good hearted but not very... dramatic. I created a stage motif that starts with an animation of the curtains opening on the website. As it's a community project I now voluteer my time to update the website changes as the productions change.
This is a site I did for a therapist. It uses image rollover effects to give brief snippets of information about the various conditions he treats. You can open the webpage in a new window if you click on it. Notice too how all of the primary page links open in a box on one page. This keeps all the information on one screen and limits the need for scrolling.
This is a site for a hypnotist and reflects a similar concept... the screen has the information and there is no need to scroll. I think too many websites provide you with more information than you need and require you to look around a lot to find what you want. What most businesses need to convey is simply what they do, where they do it and how to contact them to find out more. This one has an embedded video as well.
This is a variation of a Wordpress template with a custom designed header. While many people think of Wordpress being for blogging websites it is also an excellent format for static websites that the owner might simply want to occasionally update themselves. Maybe one "upcoming events" or "current news" page. There are thousands of templetes that are free to use as long as the designer is credited.
A pretty basic site but it has a couple of nice little features. All of the pages feature the same screen area for information and there is no scrolling needed. Did I mention I HATE scrolling and try to design sites so it isn't necessary? It's so much easier to press a button to get more information. There is also a little random image generator that's kind of fun.
Another website for a non-profit agency... I like doing those 'cause I don't feel bad about providing some extra touches or time for free. If you are a non-profit contact me and see we'll what kind of deal we can work out. This site is a good example of the balance between images and text that I like to establish. It also has a nice rollover effect menu.
I can show you lots of websites I've built but my guess is that the only website you are REALLY interested in is YOURS! I can build you a website, to your specifications, using your artwork and text for about $50 a page. Setting up shopping carts, event calendars, photo galleries or creating a lot of graphics for the site obviously take extra time and will cost extra. However I can also build you a website for FREE if you want. Click here to find out how.
